Pattern Welded Suontaka

This sword is a re-creation of the historical grave sword unearthed from the Suontaka grave in southern Finland. The blade is pattern welded 1080/15n20/80CrV2 high carbon steel and has been hardened and tempered. Guard and pommel are sculptural quality silicon bronze. Pommel is keyed and hot peened to the tang. The scabbard has a wood core with leather covering and bronze fittings.
