Pattern Welded Longsword

This long sword has a blade made of 288 alternating layers of 1084 and 15N20 high carbon steel. I forged this particular blade using the shop and equipment of my friend Jerry Wolfe. The patterning in the blade is very fine. It is hardened and tempered and has a sharp edge.

The guard and pommel are sculptural quality silicon bronze. The pommel is keyed and hot peened to the tang. The grip has a wood core with a linen cord wrap and cotton cord risers with a leather covering.
