Dao Re-hilt

This is a re-hilt on a Chinese Dao blade. The tang had the threaded end removed and was then extended to accommodate the new grip length and to allow for a hot peen. Sculptural quality silicon bronze hilt fittings (the tsuba, fuchi, and kashira) with a wood cored grip and a leather grip wrap. The cost for a re-hilt on a client provided blade is generally between $1800 - $2400. This sword is not available.
